Some black powder events on our calendar are referred to as "jug shoots". To give you an idea of what this is all about we offer this QuickTime movie of an 1851 Colt Navy .36 (CVA reproduction)meeting a gallon jug of water at 50 yards.

I hit with the first four out of five, but the swinging jug got the better of me, and the last shot splintering the wood A-frame nearest the camera. Listen for that last ball diving off to hit the target frame another 50 yards downrange.
